Take care of YOURSELF

Student Success Statement
“Take care of yourself and everything else will fall into place.”
Coach David Diamont
I believe this quote means to take care of myself mentally, physically, and emotionally. First I can take care of myself physically by exercising, eating healthy, and never try or do drugs. I can take care of myself mentally by learning in school so they can teach me to Choose the Right. Finally I can stay emotionally healthy by controlling my emotions being mature about things; knowing when to fool around, when to be serious, basically knowing how to choose my emotions.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT!!!

Acquiring the Habits of Highly Successful Students
Part 12
What is important to you is that you, as you start to reach milestones in your ambitions, you appreciate your own achievements. It is a boost, of course, if others appreciate what you have done too, but appreciating yourself will strengthen your self-belief, and reinforce your determination to succeed. Some of the key characteristics you will find in those who are successful are perseverance, prepared to research, plan and work hard, practice a lot even when things don’t seem to be going well, and an ability to recover and learn from setbacks. At the outset of whatever it is you are trying to succeed in, a strong vision in your future, planning, and setting yourself achievable targets can all play an important role.

Be Wise

“Be Wise—Never Use Drugs or Alcohol”
Write a 300-Word Document
If you are already a senior and haven’t done any sorts of drugs then you deserve an award for Choosing the Right. There so many bad things that drugs and alcohol can do to you mentally, physically, and emotionally. Some drugs might not affect you right away but in due time and it will get you. I will right 2 examples of drugs that can affect you right away and that will gradually kill you or destroy your life. First if you smoke weed you won’t feel anything bad happening to you but if you smoke every day in due time you can actually develop lung cancer. This happens because you become addicted and you’re not supposed to breath in smoke. Also with this drug your reactions become slower and breathing becomes harder. You can actually forget things faster because this drug kills your brain cells. But a drug that can kill you right away would be Speed. I learned (in health class) that Speed makes your heart pump faster and if you do any physical activity that can make your heart pump faster, your heart will give out. This happened to a high school student who ran from the cops and died because he was using Speed and his heart gave out when he tried to jump over a fence.

Whether studying or in general life, planning is an imperative skill. Here, we must strictly set the hours for studying, and should promote regularity in doing so. Don’t put off your studies to the last moment (just before the test), because in that moment you will be feeling stress and pressure, and both factors will prove disturbing for your learning; that’s the high price of procrastination. During the exam, it’s important to forget about panic and stress. And if you are planning for your thesis, you may find this post useful. Other planning tip I frequently give is that, when you are assigned a homework, try to solve it as quickly as possible, several days before the required day, but don’t try to complete it perfectly and don’t submit it immediately. I always recommend doing homework early, but deliver it at the last possible day.
